Whether you are first place or last ass, finishing is every racer’s goal, especially at Fairplay, Colorado’s Championship Pack Burro Race. It’s a 29.5-mile high-country course to Mosquito Pass at 13,185 ft and back; as a consequence, a few teams often return well after dark and long after the spectators and race officials have left. This team will earn the “Last Ass Award” for their efforts, a recognition given to the last team at every pack burro race. They will also join an ‘elite’ group of ‘night-certified’ pack burro racers!
Folded note cards and prints in various sizes are available. Follow the link Note Cards & Prints. Artist proceeds are donated to the Pack Burro Racing Photographers, a non-profit, all-volunteer group of photographers dedicated to photographing and archiving Colorado's Summer Heritage Sport: pack burro racing. Donations assist with travel costs, archiving digital images, and other miscellaneous expenses.
